Country Artists Honor Soldiers - 2009-08-18 digg  Digg!
In this highly sensitive political times the patriotic events, such as the Week of the Eagle, continue to demonstrate the unity that runs strong through-out all Americans who hold different political stances. Our journey began zooming down the road from Nashville to KY, worried we would miss our Public Affairs Escorts to lead us into the camp... We were greeted by friendly faces helping us into the back-stage area where Country Stars Carrie Underwood, Jake Owen, Rodney Atkins, Hank Williams Jr., & MC for the evening: John Rich, honored the soliders at Fort Campbell, KY's festivities, hosted by the 101st Airborne Division.  More than 75,000 came out to the camp with military families, & friends welcoming those home & remembering those still overseas.  Hank Williams Jr. talked about his special purpose in participating with the lineup, while using the time properly to honor those he respected so dearly.

As we talked to one of the soldiers & a few fans on the sidelines, you understand the value of music to calm those worried about their loved ones or being the ones working hard serving our Country. Carrie made sure to give some fans time to take photos & receive autographs after her Media interviews.  She also held a meet-and-greet with the soldiers back-stage, & spoke to us on her experience performing for those serving in Iraq.  Click for more Photos & Video-Footage with Carrie, Jake Owen, Hank Jr., & John Rich.
