Montgomery Gentry invited to join 'Opry'www.tennessean.com From music writer Peter Cooper: Country duo Montgomery Gentry is the latest addition to the cast of the Grand Ole Opry. Charlie Daniels informed Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry of the honor during this week's Tuesday Night Opry. Official induction will take place on June 23. "With each and every Opry performance Eddie Montgomery and Troy Gentry have offered, it has been quite apparent that not only do they know how to move audiences with their unique brand of music, but they, too, are moved by the connection they share with the Opry and its rich legacy," said Opry vice president and general manager Pete Fisher. Montgomery Gentry's Opry debut came on March 3, 2000. The duo has scored hits including "My Town," "Gone," "Daddy Won't Sell The Farm," "Back When I Knew It All" and "Roll With Me." This summer, Montgomery Gentry will join Kenny Chesney's multi-act stadium shows during the Sun City Carnival Tour. Click video to watch!: |
