Hold That Thought, Chuck Wicks (Sony/RCA)The latest sexy single from Chuck Wicks is a more soulful release from the young male vocalist. Known for his tenor presentation in “Stealing Cinderella” and “All I’ve Ever Wanted,” his current vocal presence on this project heightens his singing style while giving a believable emotion. I can’t help but wonder if writing with legendary R&B vocalist Brian McKnight didn’t influence the singer to bring this kind of ‘Soul’ into the
music. www.chuckwicks.com

Pray For You, Jaron and the Long Road to Love (Universal Republic) Jaron and TLRTL is a continuum of talent; formerly a part of the brother duo act, Evan &
Jaron, the now Country Pop singer releases the album Getting Dressed in the Dark with the current single “Pray for You.” The released tune is a clever play on words made from the perspective of a tainted lover looking for answers. It stands out from other love gone wrong songs which you can enjoy in a demented humor sort of way. Myspace.com/Jaronandthelongroadtolove

Just by Being You (Halo & Wings), Steel Magnolia (Big Machine) The follow-up single to “Keep on Lovin’ You,” new duo Steel Magnolia slows down
the music for their harmonies. On this tune, Josh & Meghan’s vocals seemingly
mesh in a balanced and interesting way which is normally hard for two strong individual singers. The music behind the lyrics is slightly less hooky than their last tune, but the two give a beautiful vocal presentation which makes up for the ballad.www.bigmachinerecords/steelmagnolia

Love Like Crazy, Lee Brice (Curb Records) Getting more credit as an artist is Lee Brice in his previously released album titled tune Love Like Crazy which fits perfectly for his voice; the song was brought to him by producer friend, Doug Johnson, and the choice to record this song couldn’t have been better. The full project also contains previous charting singles "She Ain't Right" and "Happy Endings." What I specifically enjoy about Lee’s vocals is his ability to dramatize every phrase without sounding over the top or insincere. www.leebrice.com

Outlaw, Mark Chesnutt (Saguaro Road Records) When you have a voice such as Mark Chesnutt’s, your boundaries are limitless in the Country world. Mark‘s appreciation of the classics, originally sang by some of his heroes Willie, Waylon, & Kris Kristofferson, illuminate these Country standards. It comes as no surprise that the neo-traditionalist chose to give ode to the singer/songwriters who inspired him. Legendary producer Pete Anderson (Dwight Yoakum, Tanya Tucker) worked on the ‘Outlaw’ project and stated “Mark Chesnutt put on a vocal display like I’ve never before seen in the studio.” You can purchase the album at www.markchesnutt.com.
