 Little Big Town started off the wins at the 2012 CMA Awards by winning the Single of the Year with "Pontoon." The band graced the stage with big smiles, since it was the quartet's first CMA as it was their first #1 song.
The evening was filled of course with jokes from Brad & Carrie poking fun at the audience including Jennifer Nettles very pregnant state. Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton emotionally won Song of the Year for "Over You," penned by the couple,for Blake's brother who was lost in a car accident.
Eric Church as predicted received the Album of the Year for "Chief." But the surprises continued with Thompson Square as Duo of the Year.
Over the last few years the CMA's have been looking more slickly produced & stylized in their production, & this year is definitely the epitome of being more 'youthful.'
