 We are saddened to announce that the Eli Young Band family has suffered a heartbreaking loss this week. Jon Jones’ father, Allen Edwin Jones passed away in Fort Worth, TX on Monday, after fighting valiantly against lung cancer.
Jones was 74 years old and had been a champion for his son, supporting his musical aspirations from an early age. “He was always on my side when it came to playing music,” said Jon. “Ever since my parents started me on violin at the age of 2 ½.” Jon continued, “he even predicted…years before the band was formed, that I would have a big future in country music.” Allen Jones was proud to see his son realize his prediction.
His wife of eight years, his five children and their mothers survive Jones. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure or the American Cancer Society.
