Call it equal parts great talent, great timing and a little bit of luck, but Easton Corbin secured a major record deal and scored two consecutive No. 1 hit singles faster than nearly every chart topping artist that’s come before him during the past couple of decades. In Introducing: Easton Corbin, premiering Sunday, September 16, 9:00 p.m./ET on Great American Country (GAC), the down to earth rising star looks back on the path that led him from a small town in Florida to concert tours with the likes of Brad Paisley and Blake Shelton.
“When he sings a song, you believe what he’s saying because he believes it,” says producer Carson Chamberlin of Corbin’s pure country sound. Viewers will get a chance to see Corbin enjoying a rare bit of downtime as he hits the open road on his motorcycle and what it felt like to make his first appearance on the Grand Ole Opry, an honor he’ll never forget. There’s also an unplugged, front porch performance of “Are You With Me,” an emotional ballad.
Corbin’s sophomore release, All Over the Road, will be released September 18. “I felt that not only am I competing against others who are out there, I’m competing against myself now,” he says of his second LP release. As for the title, he explains that it sums up life as a touring artist working to get his music heard. The album’s first single, “Lovin’ You Is Fun,” shows fans what he’s been up to between albums. “That song’s a little different as far as the feel. The cadence kind of makes you want to sing along to it.”
Those closest to Corbin are confident that his new music is poised to take him back to some familiar ground, the top of the charts. “He’s kept it fun, still kept it simple and kept it country,” says label VP/A&R Joe Fisher.
